weekly words week 38 - puppet show and karuta.

what have you been up to this week?

haven’t been feeling 100% well this week, i’ve been working from home since monday. the culture night is a culture event here in my city, wish i could experience more events, but i’ve been out for walks because i’m tired of staying inside. i went to see a friend’s band, was completely exhausted when i got back home. felt a bit better so i went to a comedy puppet show but felt a lot worse today and have been resting in the sofa with hot lemon soup, warm rice with melted butter and tea. i get restless when i’m ill.

how is the creativity process going?

not at all because i’m ill. but i’m going to write song #128, it doesn’t have a name yet but it’s inspired by snufkin.

what are you listening to?

motsol with the song ”blind”.

they have many good songs, would be nice if they had a spotify page. :)

what are you watching?

so here’s the thing, i’ve finished a few animes now when i’ve just been resting. but i’ve picked up a new one because i was bored and this time it was:

chihayafuru

chihaya ayase has spent most of her life supporting her sister’s model career. When she meets a boy named arata wataya, he thinks chihaya has potential to become a great karuta player. As chihaya dreams of becoming japan's best karuta player, she is soon separated from her karuta playing friends. now in high school, chihaya still plays karuta in the hope that she will one day meet her friends again.

do i need to say that i’m so happy with this choice of anime? i really, really like it. it has got a nice storyline, good character development, nice world, beautiful animation and good messages and lessons hidden in the episodes. and i was surprised i am so hooked on karuta - a japanese traditional card game(?!), but i’m on season 2 and have watched 27 episodes. one commented in the first episode: ”this has to be the most heartwarming first episode of any anime ever.” and i completely agree.

what are you reading?

i finished ”skärmhjärnan” by anders hansen. i really recomend it.

what have you been buying or decluttering?

because i’m obsessed with this new anime i’m watching (chihayafuru), i became interested in reading the english translation of 100 poets, so i bought the version published 2018 called ”one hundred poets, one poem each - a treasury of classical japanese verse” by peter macmillan. i have been interested in reading more poetry this summer. i think it could be inspiring for my songwriting.

i also bought a beautiful locally handmade tea cup, it’s very beautiful, it looked a bit japanese, had a wabi-sabi feeling so i got it.

bought a pair of grey pants, a pair of brown checked pants and a blue white checked overshirt, it’s been on my "buy-the-damn-thing-if-i-still-want-it-in-a-month-"list for over a month now.

i got rid of soundcloud because i don’t think it’s necessary for me to have my music there.

how are your 5 habits?
