weekly words week 24 - rainy camp and drawing cake

what have you been up to this week?

work and group activities with my colleagues. i also had a music day this wednesday where i worked on a new song. i wanted it to be an acoustic version so it took some time to record in the studio. i went on a rainy camping trip this friday and got a lot of energy and calmness from that trip. i helped friends to visit their cat when they were away at a concert. had pizza and movie night with friends. and also i started drawing!

how is the creativity process going?

i’ve switched into a lower gear. i’m still creating but i’m also slowing down in time for summer vacation. i try to find more calm and prioritize my well-being more after a productive spring with work and music making. i think it’s about listening to the body, and my body shouts at me to give it nature and books. :3

next original song won't be out this weekend because of my slow pace.

but right now, i’ve picked up drawing. i’ve been on and off with drawing these years but i really enjoy it when i take the time to draw.

what are you listening to?

让风告诉你 (Let the Wind Tell You) -

i don’t really know the background of this song, if it’s made for a tv-show, a book or some sort of game but i’m in love with this song even though it's unusual, the melody in this song. and the cute vocals. i believe it’s chinese and it has a fantasy and mmorpg vibe!

what are you watching?

this cat meme!

also - Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs

i think it’s not the best otome game anime i've watched but it’s still pretty interesting. the art style is okay. it's a bit shallow. i’ve got one episode left. 6 out of 10, i would say.

Selfish office worker Leon has a problem. He’s just been thrust into an otome world. Competing for the attention of women against other handsome suitors is not his idea of fun, especially when all he wants is to relax. Ok, fine. He’ll play their little game, even start a revolution, if that’s what it takes for him to get some peace and quiet!

what are you reading?

right now i’m reading - Big Magic: Elizabeth Gilbert

i think this is the third time i read it. it’s a really good read, especially for those who want to try out something new in their lives!

Elizabeth Gilbert discusses the attitudes, approaches, and habits we need in order to live our most creative lives. Balancing between soulful spirituality and cheerful pragmatism, Gilbert encourages us to uncover the strange jewels that are hidden within each of us. Whether we are looking to write a book, make art, find new ways to address challenges in our work, embark on a dream long deferred, or simply infuse our everyday lives with more mindfulness and passion, Big Magic cracks open a world of wonder and joy.

i've also been reading a manga that's called shortcake cake. it's very sweet (get it?) and i love it already! i recommend it to those who likes slice of life, romance and comedy.

Ten Serizawa has a two-hour commute through the mountains to high school every day, so she can’t spend much time hanging out with her friends in the afternoon. She decides to move into the local boardinghouse, where one of her friends and three other boys are living. Ten’s friends consider her to be as oblivious as a rock when it comes to noticing boys and falling in love, but will she be able to keep her calm and steady heart in her new living situation?

what have you been buying or decluttering?

this week i bought art material for drawing!! i chose Winsor & Newton’s promarker (brand from england). i think i purchased around 15 colors and two 40 sheets of manga paper (paper that's works great together with the pens).

i’ve also been buying new acoustic foam soundproofing panels for my studio. a friend of mine wants to record her song with me so i need to replace old panels with new ones. been putting of that for a while but now i have no excuse :)

how are your habits?

journaling - good!

meditation - good!

forest walks - good!

reading - goody!

music - slow but good!

what are you grateful for?

the rainy camp!

a calmer week!

what are you letting go off?

the believe that i can change people's behavior no matter what, sometimes that’s not the case. and it’s ok. sometimes it's more important to be flexibel.

what are your highlights?

rainy camp and drawing cakes!
